William Paterson University’s student-run radio station, WP 88.7 FM Brave New Radio, is one of the top ten nominees for the 2014 mtvU Woodie Award for “Best College Radio Station.” The winner will be determined by the most online votes.

WP 88.7 FM is the only college radio station from New Jersey nominated for this award.  According to mtvU.com, WP 88.7 FM ranks among the top ten stations that “breathe life into campus culture; the best in the country as determined by peers and a panel of experts.”

The award will be presented at the Woodie Award ceremony that will take place on March 13, 2014 in Austin, Texas during the SXSW Music Festival. Voting may take place until March 6, 2014.

William Paterson’s WP 88.7 FM has won a stream of prestigious awards, including the “Best Station in the Nation” award in its size category from the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS) for the past two years. This year, for the third time, WP 88.7 FM is nominated for the “Best Station in the Nation” award by IBS; that award will be announced on March 9.
