More Than 500 High School Students Visit Campus for New Jersey Future Educators Association Conference

Interested in becoming teachers, 500 high school students from around the state visit campus for conference

Nearly 500 high school students from fifty high schools around the state who are interested in becoming teachers attended the 2011 New Jersey Future Educators Association conference on October 7 held in the University Commons Ballroom.

The conference featured two keynote addresses, and William Paterson faculty explored topics including success in teaching, and urban teaching. The New Jersey Future Educators Association is a new statewide organization coordinating the network of individual future educator chapters around the state. The annual statewide conference, designed for high school students who aspire to become teachers, provides a forum for educating prospective future teachers and providing them with pre-professional networking opportunities to engage and interact with peers who have similar goals.

The event was sponsored by William Paterson University, the Center for Future Educators at The College of New Jersey, and the New Jersey Education Association.
