William Paterson Faculty, Staff and their Families Receive Degrees

William Paterson's Class of 2015 included many happy faculty, staff and family members

WP's own graduates included many faculty and staff and their families who have earned their degrees from William Paterson University.

Allen Williams, director of commuter services at William Paterson, has earned a master’s degree in clinical and counseling psychology to increase his skills and better serve the campus. In 2002, he received a BA in psychology from William Paterson. He has been employed at the University since 1988. Prior to his current position, he held various positions in public safety.  

Destinee Bayona, daughter of Candice Perez, executive assistant to the vice president for enrollment management, graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in psychology and sociology. Destinee plans to attend graduate school and looks forward to a career in guidance counseling for a middle school or high school.


Lynette Butler,
coordinator of veterans affairs, graduated with a bachelor's degree in liberal studies with a concentration in sociology and psychology. On staff since 1993, Butler pursued her degree to enhance her knowledge and understanding of the human condition and make a more valuable contribution to her job.

 

Ginette Castro, wife of Corporal Joseph Castro, a member of the William Paterson Police Department, graduated with a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree. Ginette is also a part-time professor of nursing at the University.


Corina DeJesus, daughter of Lissette (DeJesus) Gonzalez, program assistant, Office of the Provost, is graduating with a bachelor’s degree in communication with a focus in media production. She is the co-host for “Latin Flavors” on the campus’s WP88.7 FM Brave New Radio and won a Maltese Award for “Best DJ.” Corina has ambitions to work in radio or television; she recently completed an internship as promotions assistant at 92.3 FM AMP radio and also hosts a performing arts show for rawartists.org.

Adrian Diaz, son of Francisco Diaz, associate vice president for campus life, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in communication specializing in media production. Adrian completed an internship with the New York Giants and would like to pursue a career in the fields of sports, television, film and editing.

 


Victoria Holle,
daughter of Chris Holle, associate professor, psychology, graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing. A Dean’s List student, Victoria wants to focus on maternity/labor and delivery nursing and plans to pursue a degree in midwifery.

 

Jami Jennings, administrative assistant, Gloria S. Williams Academic Advisement Center, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in sociology. A staff member for nearly three years, Jennings chose to pursue a degree to enhance her knowledge and support her career growth. She will begin pursuing a master’s degree in business this summer. Her mother-in-law, Sue Jennings, retired from the Office of Student Development in February after nearly 20 years at William Paterson.

Matthew Louie, nephew of Kem Louie, professor of nursing, graduated with a bachelor of science degree in nursing, cum laude. He aims to work in a hospital emergency room, operating room, or in orthopedics.

 

Victoria Olmo, cousin of Tashi Oyola, associate director of undergraduate admissions, graduated with a bachelor’s degree in English. Victoria is currently an intern at Cliché Magazine and plans to pursue a career in the fields of editing/publishing for books or magazines.

 

Emiliano Rexach, son ofEmiliano "Tino" Rexach, campus card systems engineer, IT/Enterprise Networking & System Services,graduated with a bachelor of science degree in marketing and professional sales. Emiliano will begin his career as a sales representative for Waste Management Inc. and plans to purse a master’s degree at William Paterson with a focus on global sustainability and corporate social responsibility. His mother, Sofia Rexach, graduated from William Paterson in 2000 with a degree in nursing.

Vladimir Pichardo, enterprise application administrator, IT/Enterprise Networking & System Services, graduated with master’s degree in business administration to enhance his knowledge and career opportunities. On staff full time for nearly nine years, Vladimir also worked as a student technical assistant while he was obtaining his undergraduate degree in computer science in 2006.

Jason Rosengart, son of Sharon E. Rosengart, director, Career Development Center and Pesce Family Mentoring Institute, graduated with a bachelor of arts degree in economics. He is employed by Jules Scheck Associates in Wayne, NJ.
