Just in time for the upcoming political conventions and next year’s presidential election, the Cheng Library is pleased to introduce two new resources for published research on politics and public affairs: Political Science Complete and Public Affairs Index.

Political Science Complete provides access to full-text sources that include nearly 480 journals (of which 262 are unique to this database), 330 full-text reference books and the 35,000-plus conference papers from many major political science associations.

Given the multidisciplinary nature of politics, this resource provides extensive coverage of global politics with an expansive focus.  The database also captures the scope of political studies from both the national and international perspectives. The subjects covered include comparative politics, international relations, humanitarian issues, law and legislation, non-governmental organizations, and political theory.

The content draws from scholarly, professional, and peer-reviewed sources.  It also includes notable popular sources such as The Nation, Commentary and Policy and Perspectives.

Public Affairs Index, a bibliographic database, covers all aspects of contemporary public policy from the national and international points of view.  These issues range from public health, the environment, housing, human and civil rights, to international commerce and conflict.

This resource encompasses a wide variety of materials for researchers and students. The database contains a diverse collection of sources including scholarly journals, conference papers, trade publications and government documents.  These publications provide up-to-date information on a wide range of topics of concern in the world today.

Together, these resources provide comprehensive access to the research literature, reports, news, and other expert analyses of politics and public affairs.
