Linda Salvesen Systems Librarian

Linda Salvesen joined the Cheng Library staff in October 2019 as the Systems Librarian. Linda is responsible for administering and configuring the Library’s Integrated Library System and troubleshooting hardware and software issues with library systems. She will also serve as the Nursing Liaison.

After acquiring a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from LaSalle University in Philadelphia, Linda worked in clinical research at Temple University’s Center for Obesity Research and Education (CORE) and the University of Pennsylvania’s Center for Weight and Eating Disorders (CWED). Later, she matriculated into the Master of Library and Information Science program at the University of Pittsburgh, with a concentration in Health: Resources and Services. During this program, she gained valuable experience working at Carnegie Mellon University’s two Science Libraries.

Prior to William Paterson University, Linda was the Electronic Resources/Serials Management Librarian at Caldwell University, where she was also the Liaison for the Nursing program and the library’s social media coordinator. Linda looks forward to building on this experience and sharing her knowledge with Nursing faculty and students and as a member of the Cheng Library Social Media Team.

In her spare time, Linda enjoys coffee, traveling, hiking, and seeing live music. You will frequently find her at the coffee shop on campus. She loves her cat (Jazz) and dog (Banjo).

When asked about joining the Cheng Library, Linda said: “I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work closely with library systems and with the welcoming community here at William Paterson.”
