William Choi joined the library staff as a Professional Support Specialist on April 6, 2015.  In his position, he supports the Cheng Library’s IT infrastructure by providing primary user support in all areas served by computer systems.  Although he is new to the Cheng Library, William is well known around the University. He began his career at William Paterson with Information Technology’s User Services department where he provided user support throughout the University.

William received a B.A. in Criminal Justice and Information Technology and Informatics from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey in 2010.  Prior to joining William Paterson University as a staff member, William worked in Ibaraki Prefecture in Japan as an Assistant Language Teacher from 2010 to 2013. During his time in Japan, he promoted and developed strong relationships with the local community through foreign language education and international exchange activities. He hopes to continue to build strong relationships in the Cheng Library just as he did in Japan.

As a Professional Support Specialist for Library Information Systems, William hopes to continue to provide quality support, as well as he did when he was with User Services. William is excited to join the staff at the Cheng Library and looks forward to working and collaborating with all the staff members.

When away from work, William enjoys photography, sports, reading, and traveling; as he is constantly consumed by wanderlust, and is always looking for his next travel destination.
