Five Student Assistants Receive Awards for Exemplary Service

The Cheng Library holds reception and recognition ceremony for five exemplary student assistants.

The student assistants receiving awards (from left to right) Ndeah Terry, Jackeline Reyes, Justin Minnella, Loel Fortugaleza and Kareem Kinslow.

Each year, the Library recognizes selected student assistants for exemplary service.  Students are nominated by their supervisors and must meet certain criteria to be eligible for recognition.  These student assistants receive awards at a reception held in the Cheng Library.

More than 20 students are employed throughout the Library in the numerous departments, and these assistants represent a considerable portion of the Library’s workforce.  Students provide a wide range of services in the Library. They assist at the service desks of Periodicals, Reserve and Lending Services, shelve books, help with stack maintenance, and often perform additional tasks.

An awards ceremony was held on April 21, 2015 in the Paterson Room where the Library specifically honored five students for outstanding service: Ndeah Terry from the Curriculum Materials Department, Loel Fortugaleza and Justin Minnella, both from the Periodicals Department, and Kareem Kinslow and Jackeline Reyes, both of Lending Services.  This recognition event serves to acknowledge the Library’s gratitude for the students’ exemplary service during the academic year.  The reception provides a way to formally acknowledge these students and to demonstrate the Library’s appreciation for the assistance they provide

The staff of the Cheng Library extends thanks to all of the student assistants for their service, and wishes to congratulate the five students recognized this year.

Congratulations to Ndeah, Loel, Justin, Kareem, and Jackeline!
