MA in Professional Communication

Admission Requirements

In addition to the University’s admission requirements:

  • Cumulative grade point average of 3.00 on a scale of 4.00.
  • Essay articulating the student's goals and expectations; how the student's academic and professional backgrounds fit the nature and mission of the program (or have prepared them for a successful learning experience in the program); how they may benefit from the program; and how they would contribute to the program and their fellow students.
  • Two recent letters of recommendation.
  • Please note: Applicants may qualify for a waiver for the essay and/or letters of recommendation requirements. Please contact the graduate program director, Professor Lorra Brown, at BrownL50@wpunj.edu, to see if you qualify for a waiver.
  • The essay and letters of recommendation requirements are waived for current William Paterson University undergraduates who have a minimum 3.0 GPA and are part of the 4+1 BA/MA in Professional Communication program.
  • Required for international students only: English Proficiency requirements
