Robin Schwartz, associate professor of photography at William Paterson University, has been receiving national publicity for her new book, Amelia and the Animals, to be released by the Aperture Foundation on October 30. The book features 75 photographs of Schwarz's daughter, Amelia, taken over a 12-year period.
Amelia and the Animals was featured in TIME's guide to the best fall photo books. Schwartz and her photography will be in several upcoming features including New York Magazine Online in early October; O, The Oprah Magazine Live Your best life, a one page feature in the November issue; the cover and several page feature in The Telegraph Weekend Magazine on September 20; and L'Express, a review and feature on October 3.
Her upcoming talks include events at the School of Visual Arts (SVA Lecture Series), San Francisco Art Institute, Photo Alliance, on November 7, among others.
Other assignments include curating a chapter on "The Animals We Love" for a book by National Geographic and a recent New York Times Magazine editorial assignment.
Schwartz's award-winning photography and images of animals have appeared in museums and galleries around the world. Her works are on view through October 17, 2014 in the University's Ben Shahn Center for the Visual Arts.
