Cluster Courses refer to a set of two or three linked General Education courses; the courses are scheduled in sequential time slots creating an opportunity for special longer sessions in which students see how the disciplines interact. Students register for the cluster so they take these two or three courses together. These courses are planned with the specific purpose of having students explore ways in which these disciplines are connected. Since the nature of the cluster implies an extended amount time spent with both the faculty teaching those courses and the same group of students, surveys have shown that participation in the program provides an exciting introduction to academic University life. Freshmen and sophomores should seriously consider taking advantage of this academic opportunity: students register for the courses in a cluster as a package. To register for a cluster or to discuss the program, students should contact Dr. Barbara Andrew, at extension 3723, or see her in her office, Atrium 275. WPU will offer the following clusters in Spring 2010 -- more to come!
