The William Paterson University Writing Center provides one-on-one tutoring for anyone in the university community working on any kind of writing in any stage of development. Tutorial sessions typically take thirty minutes to an hour. We work with you on writing issues such as outlining, thesis clarification, organization, style, transitions, citing, and grammar, and we help you learn how to edit and proofread your own writing. Our aim is not just to produce a better piece of writing; it’s to produce a better writer.
We have two locations: Atrium 128 on the main campus, and VR 3048 on the Valley Rd. campus. Our phone number is 973-720-2633.
Mon. 10:00am - 4:00pm
Tues. 10:00am - 4:00pm
Wed. 10:00am - 4:00pm
Thurs. 10:00am - 4:00pm
You can make an appointment or just walk in (In special circumstances, we can also set up an online tutoring session, using Blackboard Collaborate)
The Atrium is the long brick building in between the Library and Shea Center, facing parking lots 3 and 4. The Writing Center is on the first floor, in Atrium 128, underneath the stairs.
VR 3048 is on the third floor of Valley Rd. From the elevator, make a right, then a left and go through the swing door. Make a left at the end of the corridor.
For more information please call (973) 720-2633 or contact Dr. Matthew Kendrick.
