Michael Rees, art, recently participated in a group exhibition, “Colliding Complexities: Extreme Feats of the New York-New Aesthetic,” at StorefrontBushwick, a gallery in Brooklyn. He is a sculptor.
Brenda Marshall, nursing, has received the Excellence in Education award from the American Psychiatric Nurses Association for her contributions to education.
Zhiyuan Cong, art, director of the University’s Center for Chinese Art (CCART), and the Summer Art in China program, received, on CCART’s behalf, several awards for the 2011 Summer Art in China catalog including the Grand Award in APEX 2012, the 24th Annual Award for Publication Excellence; the Gold Award from the 27th Annual Educational Advertising Higher Education Marketing Report; and two Silver Awards from the 49th Annual Award Show from ADCNJ. The catalog is a publication that includes student art and photos from their trip to China. Cong also participated in a group show, “The World of Chinese Ink Painting” at the Middletown Arts Center, and has been selected as a Chinese Cultural Ambassador by the New Jersey Chinese American Chamber of Commerce.
Liz Morgado, elementary and early childhood education, is the recipient of the 2012 Dr. Maxine Fischel Professional Development Staff Member Award given by Professional Impact NJ and NJAEYC.
