William Paterson University and Theatreworks USA Presents Seussical

Theatreworks USA will take the stage at William Paterson University to perform the musical “Seussical” on Saturday, February 16. The performance will be held at 2 p.m. in the University’s Shea Center for Performing Arts as part of its “WP Presents!” series.

Tickets are at $10 general. There will be pre-show activities for children beginning at 1:15 p.m. The performance is appropriate for grades K-5.

“Seussical” is a musical theatre work by Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty based on the books of Dr. Seuss that debuted on Broadway in 2000. The musical travels through the lives of Dr. Seuss characters. The Cat in the Hat acts as the host in this romp through the classics. Horton, Who and Miss Gertude McFuzz are among the recognizable characters seen throughout the show. They find themselves intertwined in a crazy-quilt adventure and must save the day using the power of imagination. “Seussical” is an interactive performance that is great for the whole family.

Theatreworks USA brings professional theatre to young and family audiences nationwide. They have traveled to 49 states and Canada, touring approximately 16 shows each season. Their multi-cultural roster of guest artists includes storytellers, puppeteers, poets and magicians. Each production strives to present role models and encourage positive values for the children in the audience.
