William Paterson University Presents Lecture by Dr. Yong Zhao, Scholar and Author, on October 16

Dr. Yong Zhao, an internationally known education scholar, author and speaker, will discuss issues relating to 21st century education on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at William Paterson University in Wayne.

The lecture, “Creative, Entrepreneurial, and Global: 21st Century Education,” is free but registration is required. It will take place at 5 p.m. at the University Commons Ballroom on campus.

Dr. Zhao is the Presidential Chair and Associate Dean for Global Education, College of Education, at the University of Oregon, and a professor in the Department of Educational Measurement, Policy and Leadership. He is an advocate of teachers using and studying modern technology to reach students in a creative way. He encourages teachers to look to emerging technology to connect with students of different cultures in other countries. Dr. Zhao has published more than 100 articles and 20 books, including “Catching Up or Leading the Way: American Education in the Age of Globalization” and “World Class Learners: Educating Creative and Entrepreneurial Students.” Both of these books will be available for purchase and signing at the event.
