Kenneth E. Wolf, a respected audiologist, educator, and administrator who has published articles about healthcare issues, has been appointed dean of the College of Science and Health at William Paterson University in Wayne, New Jersey. “Dr. Wolf brings a unique perspective as an experienced administrator and faculty member from a prominent medical university that will help to enhance our programs in the sciences and health professions and position our students for competitive and productive careers,” says Edward Weil, provost and senior vice president for academic affairs. Wolf previously served as associate dean of faculty affairs in the College of Medicine, Charles R. Drew University of Medicine and Science in Los Angeles, California, in addition to posts as director of continuing medical education for the university, and professor of otolaryngology. A member of the Drew faculty since 1980, he previously held the positions of chief of audiology and director of research administration. In addition, Wolf held a concurrent position as a clinical professor in the Department of Surgery at the University of California-Los Angeles. A fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, Wolf has served as president of the California Speech-Language-Hearing Association. He has also served on numerous committees of the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association, and as president of the Association for the Behavioral Sciences and Medical Education. He received the distinguished Dorothy Dreyer Award for Volunteerism from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association. Wolf has conducted research on auditory evoked potentials. He has also published and presented papers at the local, state, and national level on healthcare reform, healthcare financing and reimbursement, managed care, treatment outcomes, and legislative advocacy. His current interests are focused on evidence-based practice, medical education, faculty development, cultural competence and health disparities. A graduate of the University of California-Santa Barbara with bachelor’s and master’s degrees in speech and hearing, he holds a doctorate in communication disorders from the University of Wisconsin-Madison. # # #
