William Paterson University Art Faculty to Present Annual Exhibit

A selection of recent artworks created by members of the art faculty at William Paterson University in Wayne will be on exhibit at the University’s Ben Shahn Galleries from September 13 through October 15, 2010. Gallery hours are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free. A panel discussion with faculty whose works are included in the exhibit will be held on Thursday, October 14 at 3 p.m. in the galleries, followed by a reception at 4 p.m.

The exhibit, in Ben Shahn’s South Gallery, will provide insight into the creative process of the University’s diverse art faculty, which includes painters, sculptors, printmakers, and designers in every media. Works featured in the exhibit include examples of painting, drawing, sculpture, mixed media, collage, furniture design, photography, textile design and printmaking.

Faculty artists include Miriam Bisceglia, James Andrew Brown, Robert Castillo, Giovanna Checchetti, Zhiyuan Cong, Angela DeLaura, Leslie Nobler Farber, Ming Fay, Glen Guarino, David Horton, Robert Kerwin, Alan Lazarus, Elaine Lorenz, Charles Magistro, Gina Miccinilli, Ken Morris, Lori Nozick, Tiana Petersen, Lily Prince, Lauren Razzore, Michael Rees, Steve Rittler, Robin Schwartz, William Truran, Tom Uhlein and Dave Zavracky.

In the East Gallery is “Road Shrines: A Peripheral Blur,” an exhibit of mixed media works by Pamela Flynn.

This exhibit is made possible in part by funds from the New Jersey State Council on the Arts/Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.

The Ben Shahn Galleries are wheelchair-accessible. Large-print handouts are available. For additional information, please call the Ben Shahn Galleries at William Paterson University, 973-720-2654.
