Thomas Heinzen, psychology, has been invited to speak as part of the 20th Annual Association for Psychological Science-Society for Teaching of Psychology Teaching Institute to be held at the 25th Annual Convention of the Association for Psychological Sciences, to be held May 23-26, 2013. 

Stephen Bryant, music, was a soloist in a performance of Gustav Mahler’s Eighth Symphony with the Canterbury Choral Society on January 14, 2013, at Carnegie Hall in New York. The concert served as the society’s diamond jubilee gala benefit.

Students Gabriel Valle and James Sattler, both violinists, have been accepted to participate in the 2013 Eclectic Styles Festival to be held February 28 through March 2, 2013 at the national conference of the American String Teachers Association in Providence, R.I.  Participants are instructed by nationally recognized performers and clinicians in a workshop setting and will perform with these guest artists during the conference.

A photograph by Robin Schwartz, art, from her Amelia series was featured in the New York Times blog “The 6th Floor: Eavesdropping on the Times Magazine” on December 30.

Student Mark Travis Rivera is one of ten students at colleges and universities across the country selected by Campus Pride as a finalist for its 2013 National Voice & Action Leadership Award, which recognizes the outstanding accomplishments of students who are creating positive changes for LGBT and ally issues within their campus communities, local communities, and region of the country. Rivera is highlighted as a Leader of Action on the organizations website, campuspride.org.
