Banner and WPconnect Critical Security Maintenance Downtime Saturday August 16, 2025 10:00PM - 11:45PM

Beginning on Thursday August 14th at 10 p.m. and concluding on Friday August 15th at 12 p.m., IT/Enterprise Network and Systems Services will be performing a scheduled essential maintenance on the University’s campus firewall security system.
Thanks to the architecture and redundancy of our security infrastructure, there should be no interruption to any campus system services or resources. But while maintenance is performed, intermittent access to systems services/resources could occur. Although this is a non-disruptive system maintenance, we want to make our community aware in case of any unforeseen issues.

If you do encounter any issues with access to campus resources either before or after this scheduled maintenance window, please report them as always to the Helpdesk via Helpdesk ticketing system or 973.720.4357.

Investigation Completed - Issue Resolved 

Enterprise Network and System Services has completed its investigation into the network connectivity issue affecting the Science East and West buildings. All network communication services have now been restored and are functioning normally.

The disruption was caused by a faulty electrical power source supplying our network distribution switch. The issue was resolved by rerouting power to an alternate source.

Subject: Network Connectivity Issue – Science East and West Building - Investigation ongoing

Enterprise Network and System Services is currently investigating a network connectivity issue affecting the entire Science East and West building. At this time, all network communication appears to be down.

We will provide updates and a resolution plan as soon as we have gathered the necessary information.

The CampusCard/CBORD system is scheduled for an essential software upgrade on Monday, August 4th, 2025, from 7-10am.

Please be advised that end-user's impact will be minimum. Some users may notice intermittent access issues during this time. It is recommended not to use the system during the upgrade window.
