Essential system storage maintenance

On Friday, June 6th, 2025, between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3p.m., IT/Enterprise Network and Systems Services will be performing an essential storage system maintenance on the University’s data center IT infrastructure.

Due to the architecture and redundancy our IT infrastructure, there should be no interruption of any campus system services and/or resources. But while maintenance is performed, intermittent access to systems services/resources could occur.  Although this is a non-disruptive system maintenance, we want to make our community aware should there be an unanticipated problem.

If you do encounter any issues with access to campus resources either before or after this scheduled maintenance window, please report them as usual to the Helpdesk via Helpdesk ticketing system or 973.720.4357.

Thank you.

Senior Director

Incidents of seemingly random Duo authorization requests

On the afternoon of 5/16, IT staff became aware of a configuration issue that was impacting Duo authorizations for employee accounts. The root cause of the issue was quickly identified and resolved. The resolution resulted in some employees receiving delayed Duo notifications for some prior logins to university systems.

If you received a seemingly random Duo prompt during the timeframe between 3:00pm on Friday 5/16 and Saturday 5/17, you can assume that the notification was a result of the resolution the mentioned issue.

Thank you for your patience.
