Anyone wishing to address the Board of Trustees of William Paterson University may do so during the New Business section of the regularly-scheduled open public meetings. Requests to address the Board should be made by email or in writing by 5 p.m. two days prior to the meeting (i.e., 5 p.m. Wednesday for a Friday Board Meeting) to the Chief of Staff of the Board of Trustees, Robert Seal (email@example.com). Generally, speakers are limited to three to five minutes. If multiple persons sign up to speak, the Board Chairperson may further limit the number of minutes allocated to each speaker to afford everyone the right to be heard. Addressing the Board is at the discretion of the Chairperson. The Chief of Staff will acknowledge each speaker’s request, including any exceptional time parameters set by the Chairperson. All comments are subject to time, place, and manner limitations as exercised by the Chair. Written materials for review by Board Members must be submitted in advance of Board Meetings by 5 p.m. two days prior to the Board Meeting to the Chief of Staff (firstname.lastname@example.org, or brought to the President’s Office in Hobart Manor). Review of materials submitted to the Board is at the discretion of the Chairperson. The Chairperson will determine the correct course of action regarding the materials and the distribution to other Board Members. Generally, items that are considered confidential under law or University policy should not be the subject of commentary.
