COVID-19 Procedure

Technical Services Window Guidelines

Equipment Distribution

  1. Equipment Reservations: While equipment reservations can still be made at the window we encourage you to use Webcheckout for most reservations (click here).  For in person reservations you will be required to wear a mask (as is required while in doors) and remain at least 6 feet away from the staff at the window.

  1. Equipment Pick Up: When you come to pick up an equipment reservation there will be a 5 step process as shown in the diagram below.

Step 1: When you come to window, please stand at the 6 foot distance line and let the staff know what you need.  The staff will ask you to swipe your ID on the card reader on the window ledge.  After confirming your identity, the TSW staff will then prepare the reservation if it is a walk up reservation.

Step 2: The TSW staff will place the equipment in the marked area outside the door to the TSW.

Step 3: They will then step back 6 feet from the equipment in the hall.

Step 4:  The TSW staff will then have you come pick up the equipment while they remain 6 feet away to ensure you receive the equipment.

Step 5: Once you have the equipment the TSW staff will return into room 116 and ask that you proceed down the hall. If there is a competency test taking place please exit toward the front of the building.

Editing Room Access

  1. Editing Room Reservations: While editing room reservations can still be made at the window we encourage you to use Webcheckout for most reservations (click here).  For in person reservations you will be required to wear a mask (as is required while in doors) and remain at least 6 feet away from the staff at the window.

  1. Arriving for an Edit Room Reservation: When arriving for an editing room reservation, the staff will ask you to swipe your ID on the card reader on the window ledge.  After confirming your identity and your editing room reservation the TSW staff will ask you to either:
  2. Take a disinfecting wipe with you from a container by the window
  3. Take a damp paper towel with disinfecting cleaner by the TSW staff

You will bring the disinfecting wipe with you to the editing room and will need to wipe down the keyboard, mouse, and other surfaces.  It is your responsibility to wipe down the workspace prior to using it and should wipe it down when you leave.  Please do not touch the screen or wipe it down.  TSW staff will clean the computers/screens.

  1. Walking to the Editing Room: Once you have disinfecting wipes, TSW staff members will then walk ahead of you to the editing room and open the door.  Once the room is opened and the staff member has stepped away from the door you may enter.  After logging into the computer you should log into Microsoft Teams as this is how the TSW staff will be able to provide support to you during your editing session.

  1. If you need Help: If assistance is needed, the TSW staff will troubleshoot with you through Microsoft Teams. You can also reach out to us via phone if needed (973) 720-2026. If the problem requires physical assistance the TSW staff member may ask you to either move out of the room while they troubleshoot or move to a distance that is 6 feet away.

  1. Bring your own Headphones: Users of the editing rooms should bring their own headphones as there will be no headphones in the labs.  If needed, headphones can be taken out from the Technical Services Window.
