Returning Safely to the University Commons

Welcome to the University Commons!  While here, you will find the following facility modifications:

Lounges 

  • All lounge furniture is located 6ft apart.  Floor markers indicate where furniture should be placed to ensure it is not moved.   
  • Signage in lounges include reminders to maintain 6ft distance and to wear a face mask.  
  • Spaces in which physical distancing is not feasible, such as the Meditation & Prayer Room, the Club Hub, and Club Offices are closed until further notice.  

Hallways, Elevators, and Stairs  

  • Traffic flow throughout the University Commons is dictated by floor arrows.  
  • Flow of traffic on stairwells has been indicated with signage and floor decals.  
  • The number of riders per elevator is limited to one person.   
  • Hand sanitizing stations are available at all building entrances, dining locations, and outside of the Ballrooms.
  • Hand sanitizer is available for purchase in vending machines located throughout the University Commons.

Conference Rooms & Events  

  • All conference rooms are configured to maintain 6ft distance between meeting attendees.  
  • Room capacity is limited as per the NJ State Indoor Gathering Guidelines.   
  • Building staff are monitoring attendance at events to ensure rooms are not over capacity.  
  • Disinfecting supplies are available in the Ballrooms so that audio/visual equipment can be disinfected after use.  

Offices 

  • Plexiglass barriers are located at the Information Desk and Hospitality Services Main Office so customers can interact with our staff members.  
  • Community members wishing to enter the Hospitality Services suite are asked to sign in and if needed, wait in a physically distant line outside of the suite until staff are available to assist.  

Dining Services 

  • Food Court tables and chairs are located 6ft away from each other to maintain physical distance.
  • Wayne Dining Hall seating options include single person tables and/or double occupancy tables with a plexiglass barrier.  All tables have a 6ft distance.

Arcade

  • All ping pong equipment and pool equipment is sanitized after each use.
  • Tables are wiped down at the end of every shift.
  • Hand sanitizer is available in the Arcade for patrons to use.
  • Plexiglass barriers are located at the Arcade Desk so customers can interact with our staff members.
