Message from Vice President Cammarata

September 18, 2017

Dear Students,

I am writing to alert you of an important and time-sensitive program for students who’s Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) status expires between September 5, 2017 and March 5, 2018; and therefore, must submit a renewal application which must be received by US Citizenship and Immigration Services by October 5, 2017.  Thanks to the wonderful work of a group of faculty, staff and students, who formed the Committee to Support Undocumented Students and Workers, immigration attorneys will be available for pro bono one-on-one appointments with students this Friday, September 22 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm in Atrium 111. For more details about this program and what students need to bring with them, click here to see the flyer.

I would also like to bring to your attention websites that provide additional information regarding upcoming educational events and financial resources, as well as the link to the site the University created last Spring:

As a University, we strive to provide access and support to students who seek higher education and to help them succeed once they are here.  We know that our community is a richer place to learn and grow when it is diverse and equitable.  I thank the Committee to Support Undocumented Students and Workers for keeping this issue in the forefront so that we can provide the best possible information and support to our students who need it and for those who care about this issue.

Dr. Miki Cammarata
Vice President for Student Development
