ASPIRE students work directly with industry professionals (many of who are WPU alums in the Humanities and Social Sciences) to become more awesome. Career Readiness Series: this is more than a slogan – it is a series of targeted career-oriented events to help humanities and social students build a professional resumé and be ready with an actionable skillset for the workplace well before graduation. Contexts Conference: An annual conference that brings leading scholars to the College of Humanities and Social Sciences to William Paterson to discuss the most pressing social issues of our time. Democracy Dialogues: a series of interdisciplinary dialogues about the challenges facing "Democracy" in the 21st Century. Each live virtual event features two William Paterson professors as panelists. Together, they explore how Democracy intersects with other issues such as Culture, Education, Race-Relations, the Media, Inequality, and Poverty. The Democracy Dialogues initiative seeks to expand the scope of who is involved in dialogues like these by encouraging active audience participation and contributions to each conversation. Digital Collaboratory: An unique interactive space for storytelling, crafting, and building in the humanities and social sciences. Paterson Metropolitan Research Project: An ongoing collaboration between the second most populous city in New Jersey with our college.
