The audition requirements on this page are for the following degree programs: B.M. in Classical Performance B.M. in Music Education, Classical Performance Track B.M. in Music & Entertainment Industries, Classical Performance Track B.M. in Sound Engineering Arts, Classical Performance Track For all B.M. degree programs an in-person performance audition is required. Applicants will also complete placement tests in theory, keyboard skills, and aural skills on scheduled audition dates. The complete evaluation of your audition by the music faculty is the most important factor in granting admission to the department. In order to be accepted into Music Department degree programs all students must demonstrate the ability to match pitch and maintain a consistent key by singing back individual notes and simple diatonic melodic patterns (3-5 notes long) that are sung or played by a faculty member, and by singing “Happy Birthday.” Information regarding the audition will be sent to you upon receipt of your music department application.
