Mr. Tejada will discuss how Goya's business model is supported and perpetuated through the integration of warehousing and logistic functions. In addition, he will cover product development and its connection to the dynamics of the market. He will conclude with a strategic view of the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.

Luis Tejada has been Vice President of Sales of Goya Foods, Inc. since 2014 and was previously employed at the company from 1997-2006. Goya Foods is the largest privately held ethnic food company in the United States. At Goya, Tejada leads a sales force of 360 representatives that bring to market over 2,000 authentic ethnic products and is responsible for the development and implementation of the company’s long-term sales strategies. He has more than 25 years of professional sales experience and is considered a food industry leader with specialized expertise in ethnic food sales and the independent supermarket industry of New York City.

Mr. Tejada has worked in national and multinational companies including White Rose Foods, Reckitt Benckiser, Perrier, and Gallo Wines, holding leadership roles in the diversification of store brands, development of strategic sales plans, and product development. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Political Science (Economics concentration) from Rutgers University, with a certificate in Finance and Accounting from Columbia University. He is a first-generation Dominican immigrant, who owes his passion for business to the hard work ethic and entrepreneurial spirit he learned from his parents as they ran a small family-owned business in Jersey City, NJ.
