Center for Chinese Art Donation Ceremony Wednesday, November 9th, 2011 John Victor Machuga Student Center A generous commitment from Mr. Mingsheng Lui and Mr. Yong Liu to donate $300,000 to the Center of Chinese Art over three years. "I am indeed honored to recognize Mr. Mingsheng Liu and Mr. Yong Liu, for their generous pledge to William Paterson University’s Center for Chinese Art, which continues to expand the dialogue of communication between east and west and brings together the best of each world. "Their commitment provides us with the resources for the Center to move forward, benefiting both the University’s students with new learning opportunities, while also reaching and educating others in the broader community about Chinese art and culture. "Specifically, we will continue to integrate the richness of Chinese art into our curriculum, developing more diverse courses devoted to traditional Chinese methods, practices and theories. The Center will also offer students exciting opportunities to view important exhibitions of Chinese art, engage with visiting Chinese artists, and learn their techniques for artistic media such as woodblock, painting, drawing, and seal carving. "We will also further expand the Center as the premier location dedicated to the appreciation of Chinese art in northern New Jersey, a place where this rich tradition is exhibited, taught, and discussed. Ultimately, through its activities and resources, the Center will cultivate a deeper understanding between the United States and China."William Paterson University is deeply appreciative to Mr. Mingsheng Liu and Mr. Yong Liu for their support as we strive to deepen and expand our understanding of Chinese art and culture. "I would also like to recognize and thank Dr. Zhiyuan Cong, a distinguished artist and professor of art at William Paterson University, for his vision, dedication, and leadership of the Center" -President Kathleen Waldron at the CCART Donation Dinner, November 9th, 2011
