Internationally known violinist and recording artist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg is music director of the New Century Chamber Orchestra. Salerno-Sonnenberg leads the ensemble into new and joyful experiences as they breathe life into the standard chamber music repertoire by infusing it with work from jazz, rock, and pop music genres. Her unique charisma and liveliness are contagious to listeners and fellow musicians as she joins the ensemble to create a high-energy sound and a joyful signature presentation.

The program features Rossini's Sonata No. 1 in G Major; Barber's Adagio for Strings; Bolcolm's Romanza for solo Violin and String Orchestra; and Mendelssohn's Octet for Strings in E-Flat Major, Op. 20.

“In her second year as concertmaster of the conductorless New Century Chamber Orchestra, violinist Nadja Salerno-Sonnenberg continues to bring vitality to this already accomplished and acclaimed ensemble.” - Strings Magazine

“...the ensemble’s obvious enthusiasm for the music and each other created that elusive connection between performer and audience that is achieved when the music is good and everyone is having fun.” - Chicago Classical Music
