Power has been restored to the William Paterson campus by PSE&G and all activities, including Monday classes, are now on normal schedules.

Last night’s storm resulted in power outages on campus and throughout the region. The storm resulted in a downed power line by Pompton Road and caused an electrical fire in the utility room in Century Hall. The fire was quickly extinguished last night with no injuries and minor damage.

As a precaution, we temporarily relocated students from Century Hall to the Rec Center last night. The students returned to the residence hall rooms at approximately 10 p.m.

I would like to thank the students for their understanding and cooperation. Thank you also to the many staff members who worked to ensure that all students were safe and sound at all times.
