News from William Paterson University

Hi! I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Maureen O'Connor, and I joined the William Paterson University Office of Advancement team in December of 2018. With the first semester coming to a close, I would like to share some news from the College of Humanities and Social Science:

Marina Budhos

WP Professor Marina Budhos (English) is an author of award-winning fiction and nonfiction, and recently completed her novel Watched (Wendy Lamb Books/Random House), a follow-up to Ask Me No Questions, and takes on surveillance in a post 9/11 era. Set in Queens, NYC, Watched tells the story of Naeem—a teenage boy who thinks he can charm his way through life. One day his mistakes catch up with him and the cops offer him a dark deal.  Watched received an  Asian/Pacific American Award for Literature YA Honor (APALA) and is an Honor Book for The Walter Award  (We Need Diverse Books).  Her newest novel, The Long Ride, about three mixed race girls during  a 1970s integration struggle, is due out from Wendy Lamb/Random House in 2019.
