The Dos and Don’ts of Death:
How to Avoid Estate Planning Mistakes in Your Later Years

Wednesday, May 10, 2017
12:00 - 1:30 p.m.
WP University Commons, Room 171 A-B

As our world becomes more complex, so do our personal lives. Once upon a time, a simple will was all that was required to ensure a successful estate planning process. But things have changed…

Estate planning is an emotionally-charged process that is best addressed long before it’s needed. Please join Lauren Locker '79, CFP® as she shares some of the insights gained from over twenty-five years of helping clients plan for what happens at the end of life.

Lauren is the owner and founder of Locker Financial Services, LLC, an independent, fee-only personal financial planning firm that specializes in dealing with middle-income clients and their families. As a graduate of William Paterson, an adjunct instructor in the Cotsakos School of Business, and a member of the WP Foundation Board, Lauren is thrilled to have a chance to share her knowledge on this important topic with WPU staff, alumni and friends.

We’ll engage in a lively discussion about things that you can do now to help ensure that your specific wishes about health care, inheritance and incapacity will be honored in all situations. Lauren will use real-life stories and humor to illustrate the good things that can happen and the bad things that can be avoided through thoughtful and thorough advanced planning.

Please attend this seminar to learn about some key steps to help you create an estate plan that will leave a lasting legacy for your family.
