Greetings!

I want to share with you a couple of exciting things taking place in the College of Arts and Communication at William Paterson.

  • WPSC – Brave New Radio, the campus radio station of William Paterson, was named Best College Radio Station in the U.S. for the 3rd time in six years by the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System on March 4, 2017. Students Mason Mills and Dylan Burns won the Best Sports Pre-or Post-Game Show award, and students Wyatt Kalb, Dylan Burns, Justin McHugh, Chris Johnson and Dante Vocaturo of WP-TV, the William Paterson campus television station, won Best Sports Report for “WP Sports Desk.”  WPSC is also the national headquarters of College Radio Day and are the creators of the Bravery in Radio Award given every year to people or organizations in recognition of pioneering work in the medium of radio.
  • First year Masters of Music in Jazz Performance graduate student Mariela (Alessandra) Versola, traveled to Saudi Arabia where she was the first woman to play jazz there as part of the American Voices program sponsored by the US Department of State.
  • WPUNJ freshman Wé McDonald was a contestant on "The Voice" and finished in third place.
  • Undergraduate and Graduate students in the art department completed their second on campus mural project. The project features a pixelated view of the Paterson landscape and is located right outside the student center. The project also collaborated with the Communications department to create a promotion video highlighting the entire process of creating the mural. The video can be found at this link:   https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qLCUB6FUaBE&feature=youtu.be

I hope you enjoyed reading about your alma mater and the success of the College of Arts and Communication and its students. I look forward to the opportunity to meet with you to hear about your WP experience. Please feel free to call me at 973-720-2825. Wishing you much continued success.

Sincerely,
