Glen Burtnik, alumnus of Styx and the original Beatlemania (he played Paul), and hit songwriter ("Sometimes Just Love Ain't Enough, Don Henley/Patty Smyth; Spirit of a Boy, Wisdom of a Man, Randy Travis; and others) brings you the Summer of Love concert. Joined by twelve or more performers including a horn section, strings, keyboardists, percussionists, background vocalists and an incredible rock rhythm section, the Summer of Love experience recreates note-for-note and live the songs, and the psychedelically flavored spirit, of the Woodstock Generation.
The concert includes music by The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Dylan, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, The Doors, Santana, Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young, Jefferson Airplane, The Association, The Turtles, The Beach Boys, Scott McKenzie, Mamas and the Papas, Country Joe, Ravi Shankar, Procol Harum, Joe Cocker, Melanie, The Spencer Davis Group, Cream, the Youngbloods, and many more nuggets and surprises from artists like The Rascals, Chicago, The Zombies, Tommy James and The Shondells, Mountain, Otis Redding, Sonny and Cher, Sly and The Family Stone, Canned Heat, The Strawberry Alarm Clock, Barry McGuire, and more!

Joe Lovano, Grammy Award-winning saxophone giant, former longtime William Paterson adjunct jazz faculty member, and former Thad Jones/Mel Lewis band member, returns to the Jazz Room stage. Lovano’s concert will feature his arrangements of Kenny Werner compositions, as well as three compositions from the Thad Jones/Mel Lewis repertoire that originally featured him. Lovano’s uniquely evocative saxophone voice combines with the William Paterson University Jazz Orchestra to present the powerful final event of this thirty-fifth anniversary season of the Jazz Room.
