We are pleased to announce that the new Pioneer Parking Garage will open as planned for use by the campus community beginning on September 1, 2014. The new garage—located behind the Science Complex and accessible by the road between Lot 2 and the tennis courts—will be available for students, both residential and commuter, as well as faculty and staff. Beginning with the 2014-2015 academic year, freshmen will now be allowed to park on campus, including in the garage.

The new garage provides an additional 1,000 parking spaces and increases the University’s parking capacity by 22 percent for a total of approximately 5,500 available parking spaces throughout the campus.

A fee will be charged for use of the parking garage to help defray the cost of building and operating the garage. Parking plans are available for the full academic year, by semester, or on an hourly or daily basis. Parking garage rates are as follows:

Commuter student: Annual: $230; Semester: $115; Summer: $50
Resident student: Annual: $450; Semester: $225; Summer: $50
Employee: Annual: $450; Semester: $225
Daily/Hourly: 0-6 hours: $5; 6-12 hours: $9; 12-24 hours: $15

Please note that you may continue to park free of charge in all other surface lots on campus. The Camp Veritans lot, however, will no longer be available for parking once the Pioneer Parking Garage opens.
