    William Paterson University’s music department will host its 19th annual guitar festival, Guitarfest 2014 in Hobart Manor. The day’s events include a concert and master class presented by guitarist Carlos Barbosa Lima.

    *Admission is $20 for one or more events, and free for William Paterson University students.  The fee for students who wish to participate in the master class is $40.

  • 30th Annual Abram Kartch Thomas Jefferson Lecture

    For the 30th anniversary of the lecture series, Thomas Jefferson will speak on campus as Steven Edenbo, Thomas Jefferson impersonator, historian, and motivational speaker, appears as Jefferson to debate John Adams (as portrayed by Peyton Dixon).  Designed to provoke discussion about the relationship of Jefferson’s words and thoughts to modern society, the Abram Kartch Thomas Jefferson Lecture Series has presented programs by many of the country’s leading Jefferson scholars. Local high school students are once again participating in an essay contest based upon the lecture’s key themes.

  • Great Falls to be Discussed at Hobart Manor Event

    Great Falls park ranger Ilyse Goldman will discuss the history of the Paterson Great Falls and the important role the falls played in the industrial growth of the city of Paterson and its neighboring communities.   • Fifth Annual Statewide Professional Development School Conference

    The keynote speaker will be Marcia Tate, an educator from Atlanta, Georgia whose topic will be “Worksheets Don’t Grow Dendrites: Twenty Instructional Strategies That Engage the Brain”.  Other breakout sessions will be presented by faculty from Kean University, Rowan University and William Paterson University.
