HOW DO I CONTACT MY ADVISOR? If you do not know who your assigned advisor is, you can obtain this information through the University homepage. Log into your WPConnect account Choose the "Self Service " tab Look for the "Academic Profile" section (located on the far upper left hand side) Look for "Advisors" written in bold, your advisor will be written underneath If there is no advisor listed and you are declared, check with your academic department; if there is no advisor listed and you are undeclared, please see the Career Development and Advisement Center The next step is to check with your academic department office and obtain your advisor's office hours, office location, and campus extension. In addition, all advisors have e-mail addresses. The format is as follows: lastnamefirstinitial@wpunj.edu. IT IS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO MEET WITH YOUR ADVISOR. All advisors have office hours, which are the times they are available to speak with you. You may also meet with your advisor at other times based on mutual agreement. These office hours are generally posted on their door and are also available from the department secretary. In some cases, your advisor may not be on campus every day, and may not check their voice mail, e-mail, or mail box on a daily basis. If you leave a voice mail message, please remember to speak clearly, slowly, and leave your telephone number and/or e-mail address. You should allow a few days for your advisor to respond. If you do not receive a response, try a second time. If your advisor does not contact you within a reasonable period of time (one week), you should call the chairperson of the department. If all else fails, call the Associate Dean or Dean of the College. Please remember that it is important for you to meet with your advisor on a timely basis. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ACADEMIC DIFFICULTY OR THE REGISTRATION PERIOD HAS BEGUN TO SET UP AN APPOINTMENT!
