How to ask for assistance using Starfish

A key feature of Starfish is the ability to ask for help remotely by "Raising Your Hand"

  • On your dashboard you'll see a tab on the left side called "Request Help"

  • Click on that and it will connect you to a window to choose what type of help you need - personal, academic or financial
  • Click on the type of help you're looking for and give a few details
    • If you need academic assistance, you'll be able to choose which course
    • You can also write a note to go along with your request so we know better what assistance you need

Once you click submit:

  • The request will automatically go to the best office to assist you
  • They will reach out via email or phone depending on your request and guide you to the appropriate person, service or office on campus

You can also reach out to your Success Network!

  • Look at that list of tabs again; click on My Success Network this will connect you to contact information for your advisor, professors, Academic Coach, and support services on campus
  • You can make an appointment or email any of those people and ask for assistance
  • You can also drop by one of the many Support Centers on campus to get the help you need
