    Originally from the tropical climates of the rural rain forests in Northeast Argentina, bordering Brazil, La Yegros’ sound is spirited and eclectic. Produced by “Fuerza Bruta” producer King Coya, her singing cuts through the male-dominated contemporary cumbia scene, drawing on both deep folk traditions and cutting edge beats. Her music is an explosive combination of the urban and the folkloric that has international audiences dancing.

    Best known for illustrating children's books, Bryan Collier is a four-time Caldecott honor recipient, and has won six Coretta Scott King Awards. His literary collaboration with New Orleans musical legend Trombone Shorty is highlighted in this program that features literature, art and the music of the Big Easy.

    Please Note: Trombone Shorty is a book title.  He will not be appearing in this program.
