In-school performance, Shea Center for Performing Arts

Admission: All tickets $9 (Teachers are FREE for in-school performance only)

Schoolhouse Rock Live Too! draws its inspiration from the Emmy Award-winning Saturday morning cartoon series, popular in the 1970s. Audiences of all ages will fall in love with Nina, the owner of a fading diner and her wacky friends. Together, this charismatic crew (made up of a friendly waitress, a “regular” at the diner, a chef, and a first-day schoolteacher) tries to brainstorm ways to save their run down diner. As they reject one idea after the next, they remain encouraged by songs from their favorite show, Schoolhouse Rock. Songs like Four Legged Zoo, The Body Machine, and Fireworks. In the end, they realize that the answer was right in front of them all along…the Conjunction Junction Diner is up and running and open for business! If you are looking for an energetic, colorful, fast-paced musical with zany, loveable characters that just happens to be educational, then look no further! For, the creators of Schoolhouse Rock Live! have returned with more of your favorite instructional tunes!

Schoolhouse Rock Live! meets New Jersey Core Curriculum Standards 1.1, 1.3, 1.4, 1.5, 3.4, 3.5, 4.1, 5.5, 5.9, 6.1, and 6.2

The Amazing Adventures of Peter Rabbit

April 26-28, 2010, 10:00 AM

In-school performance, Shea Center for Performing Arts

Grades Pre-K to 3

Admission: All tickets $9 (Teachers are FREE for in-school performance only)

In this tale of the disobedient bunny, Peter is more adolescent angst than naughty little child. Admittedly Beatrix Potter’s rabbit has family troubles: single head of household, sibling rivalries, etc. Chafing against his mother’s concerns about safety and bugged by his younger brothers and sisters Flopsy, Mopsy and Cotton-Tail, Peter sets out to test his limits and explore Farmer MacGregor’s garden.Unfortunately, he gets caught by the ‘rip-snortin’ hungry for rabbit stew’ MacGregors. The lively music includes pop-style songs, lullaby ballads and a rousing gospel number. This is the most popular show in CCT’s vast catalogue of new musicals.
