Student Technology Consultants at William Paterson all receive three days of mandatory training before they are allowed to work in the public access computing spaces. The training occurs on three consecutive days the week immediately preceeding Labor Day and covers both technology- and consulting-specific material. STCs are divided into teams for most of the sessions and learn in small, hands-on settings. Topics covered include Microsoft Office, SPSS, Digital Media, Customer Service, Blackboard, Email and much more. STC Supervisors arrive a day early to participate in several sessions dedicated to imbuing good management skills.
