UNIVERSITY MENTORING NETWORK

The University Mentoring Network is designed to create a one on one relationship between a faculty/professional staff person (mentor) and student (mentee)

The objectives of the program are:

·         To create relationships that assists the participant (mentee) in the development of two areas:  Academic (cognitive) and affective (personal).

·         To help mentee discover personal strengths and build on them.

·         To assist the mentee to set and achieve obtainable goals.

·         To help mentees continue to navigate the collegiate process.

Academic Enrichment Workshops/Lectures

 These workshops are designed to enhance the students learning curve by providing opportunities for intellectual development and personal growth outside of the classroom setting.

 

Sophomore Check-in Meeting

These meetings are for Sophomores only that cover topics that will assist with retention and graduation of student participants.  The primary focus of the meeting is to help with the acclimation process and academic growth.

 

Junior Check-in Meetings

These meetings are designed for Juniors only that assist with the retention and graduation of student participants.  The primary focus of the meeting is connecting major to career and timely completion of degree.
