Assessment Part III – Portfolio Development
- Portfolio development occurs throughout the student's educational career at William Paterson University.
- The concept of the portfolio is introduced in the Freshman Seminar: how to develop it, what its purpose is, and what to include.
- The Department of the student's major is responsible for evaluating the portfolio, separate from the advisement process, and to tie the development of the portfolio to a capstone concept/experience where possible.
- Released time will be granted for the supervision of portfolio development (to be negotiated with the AFT).
- There is the possibility of offering three credits to students over four to five years for the purpose of portfolio development.
- There will be a two year transition to full implementation by the year 2002.
