Positions:

Building Manager (General Responsibilities): The Building Manager is the student position with the most responsibility and authority on duty. She/he will monitor the overall operation of the building and its student staff. The Building Manager must enforce all the policies and procedures of the Recreation Center. The Building Manager will also assist with any incidental tasks when asked.

Areas of responsibility include fee collection, operating computerized ticket terminal, participant identification and building safety and security after office hours and on weekends. The Building Manager also serves as an information resource and a public relations representative for the Department of Recreational Services.

Salary: Varies based on years and experience at the Rec Center.

Control Desk Attendant (General Responsibilities): The Control Desk Attendant is responsible for daily fee collection, equipment checkout, court reservations, answering phone, retail sales and identification transactions. The Control Desk Attendant must also understand and operate the computerized ticket terminal after appropriate training. The Control Desk Attendant will assist with any incidental tasks when asked.

Hours: 12-15 hours per week

Salary: $8.25 per hour 

Weight/Fitness Room Attendant (General Responsibilities): The Weight/Fitness Attendant is primarily responsible for the safety of the participants that utilize the Cardiovascular Room and Weight Room. The Weight/Fitness Attendant is also responsible for monitering and cleaning the equipment, checking ids, enforcing the towel and proper workout attire policies and ensuring proper use of equipment. The Weight/Fitness Attendant will assist with any incidental tasks when asked.

Hours: 12-15 hours per week

Salary: $8.25 per hour 

Arena Supervisor (General Responsibilities): The Arena Supervisor is responsible for the safety and security of the arena. He/she will assist participants, sweep courts, pick up trash, maintain hourly stats and set up and take down sports equipment when necessary. The Arena Supervisor is also responsible for monitering and cleaning the Multi-purpose Room and Raquetball Courts. The Arena Supervisor will assist with any incidental tasks when asked.

Hours: 12-15 hours per week

Salary: $8.25 per hour 

Special Events Crew (General Responsibilities): The Special Events Crew is responsible for the set up, take down and general cleaning of the Recreation Center before and after all special events, including but not limited to concerts, trade shows and exhibitions. All employees of the Recreation Center are required to work special events and will be assigned as needed.

Salary: $10.00 per hour 

Intramural Official (General Responsibilities): The Intramural Official must learn and effectively apply the rules of the sports program to which he/she is assigned. He/she must also insure compliance with the Guides to Participation. No experience is neccessary but a basic working knowledge of the sport is required.

Salary: $9.00 per hour 

Intramural Scorekeeper (General Responsibilities): The Intramural Scorekeeper is responsible for keeping score during the game. She/he must check player's id, fill out scoresheets, record fouls/timeouts and start and stop the game clock as designated by the rules.

Salary: $8.25 per hour 

Lifeguard (General Responsibilities): The lifeguard is responsible for the safety and security of the open rec swim participants and the pool area located in Wightman Gym. He/she is responsible for insuring the policies and procedures are complied with.

Hours: 12-15 hours per week

Salary: $9.00 per hour
