Joanne Johnson

Joanne Johnson is sales performance consultant and adult education specialist with the Russ Berrie Institute for Professional Sales at William Paterson University. Joanne brings to the table a unique blend of sales and corporate education. Her responsibilities include conducting needs analysis, program development and implementation and measurement.

Joanne's sales experience extends back to the 1980’s and 1990’s where she sold in the insurance industry and sold and managed sales teams in the automotive industry. Upon receiving a master's in educational psychology from Columbia University in 1996, she began her instructional design career; first with ProTech Learning in Hoboken, NJ, where she assisted in the design and development of programs for PriceWaterhouse and a technical training workshop for Con Edison of New York. She joined ADP Automatic Data Processing as an instructional designer in 1997 where she developed product and sales training programs for emerging business services. In 1999 Joanne joined the retail training and development department of Mercedes-Benz, U.S.A. as an instructional designer where she was responsible for key contributions to the areas of sales, management and professional development training and played an integral role in the development and implementation of key process improvement initiatives.

From 2003 until 2005, Joanne was sole proprietor of JD Performance, Integrated Learning Solutions, a full-service instructional design firm specializing in the design and development of a wide variety of human performance improvement solutions. JD Performance clients include: AT&T Learning, Bridgewater, NJ; Mercedes-Benz, U.S.A., Montvale, NJ; Quid Pro Quo, Andover, NJ; Starwood Hotels, White Plains, NY; Training and Communications Group, Berwyn, PA; Wyeth Pharmaceuticals; Merck; Boston Scientific; WDK Automobile Consulting; and Russ Berrie Institute for Professional Sales.
