To the William Paterson University Community

As we begin classes on Tuesday, September 6, I would like to welcome new students, faculty, and staff, offer greetings to returning members of the campus community, and wish all of you a good semester. I would like to acknowledge the challenges many of you have faced in the last week following Hurricane Irene, whether from flooding, power outages, or traveling to and from the campus. I sympathize with the difficulties that you have experienced, and hope that life is beginning to return to normal for you. Thank you for your flexibility regarding our decision to delay the first day of classes.

Whether you are a resident or commuter student, please be assured that the University campus is safe and sound and in full swing with a wide range of activities underway and many more to follow. Every year, I look forward to the excitement we all experience when the campus comes alive after the summer break. We are pleased to welcome both new and returning students when classes begin on Tuesday, and I wish you all a great semester.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Waldron
