Dear Students,

At William Paterson University, we have embraced citizenship and civic engagement as a core value, challenging our students, faculty, staff, and alumni to recognize their responsibility to improve the world around them. With Election Day less than two weeks away, I encourage all of you to participate in our democracy and exercise your essential right as American citizens to vote.

In New Jersey, you and your fellow voters have an opportunity to affect the future of higher education in our state. The Building Our Future Bond Act will appear on the ballot as a referendum question. If passed, this Act will authorize $750 million in state bonds for construction and renovation of academic facilities at colleges and universities statewide. These funds will enable our University to maintain a top-notch learning environment for you and future generations of students. I encourage you to support the referendum, which will appear on the same ballot as the Presidential election and local elections. The referendum will be listed near the bottom of the ballot as Question No. 1.

By voting, you have the power to affect the political process.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Waldron
President
