To the William Paterson University Community
We are very pleased to announce that Governor Chris Christie and Secretary of Higher Education Rochelle Hendricks will be on campus on Tuesday, June 10, at 10:45 a.m. to participate in a formal groundbreaking ceremony for our new academic building. We are especially grateful to Governor Christie for his support of the Building Our Future Bond Act, through which we are receiving $30 million in funds toward this important $40 million project for our campus. As you know, this will be a state-of-the-art teaching and research facility that includes 16 general-use classrooms as well as specialized classrooms and clinical spaces for our well-established and expanding programs in nursing, communication disorders, and public health, programs that are designed to meet the burgeoning statewide need for health care professionals. Construction will be in full force shortly.
We are thankful that Governor Christie and Secretary Hendricks will be joining us on campus for this special event, and we appreciate their strong support and recognition of the important role of public higher education in New Jersey.
