To the William Paterson University Community

I am pleased to announce that Dr. Reginald Ross has accepted our offer to join William Paterson University as Vice President for Enrollment Management, effective June 30, 2014. After a national search with 87 candidates, the Search Committee invited four individuals to campus for a full day of interviews with key groups on campus. We were pleased with the quality of candidates who applied for the position and the deliberation and input from so many people on campus. I want to thank the Search Committee: Francisco Diaz, Susan Dinan, Andrew Nyaboga, Melissa Lorah, Daryl Moore, Jevon Morgan, and Bob Seal.

Reg has more than 20 years in higher education and 13 years of experience in enrollment management at public and private universities in New Jersey, New York, and Maryland. He joins us from Long Island University C.W. Post campus where he was Associate Provost and Dean of Admissions. Prior to joining LIU, Reg worked at Coppin State University where he served as Vice President for Enrollment Management and, from 2001 to 2008, he was at Montclair State University as Dean of Enrollment Management. From 1990 to 2001, he worked at Bloomfield College in Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and then as AVP for Enrollment Management. Reg also served as a faculty member at Bloomfield from 1990-2001 where he served as chair of the Social and Behavioral Sciences Division and was a member of the Faculty Senate. In his extensive career in higher education, Reg has participated in strategic planning, transfer initiatives, EOF, Middle States, American Democracy Project and the P-20 New Jersey Statewide Planning Committee.

A 1985 graduate of Xavier University  with a bachelor’s degree in psychology, Reg earned a master’s degree in 1988 and a doctorate in 1991 from Stevens Institute of Technology  in applied psychology with a specialization in industrial and organizational psychology. He has given many presentations and papers at academic conferences on student advancement, decision-making, and faculty development for multicultural curriculum. Reg also has taught courses in psychology including psychology of gender, abnormal psychology and organizational behavior.

The role of Vice President of Enrollment Management serves an important need of this University and will be instrumental in leading our efforts on improving retention and graduation levels. Reg will report directly to me and will be a member of the University’s cabinet. We are pleased to welcome Reginald Ross to William Paterson University and look forward to his arrival on June 30.

Sincerely,

Kathleen Waldron
