Institute of Museum and Library Services - Museum Grants for African American History and Culture: Notice seeking applications for developing or strengthening knowledge, skills, and other expertise of current staff at African American museums; attracting and retaining professionals with the skills needed to strengthen African American museums; and attracting new staff to African American museum practice and providing them with the expertise needed to sustain them in the museum field.

 

U.S. Department of Education - Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language Program: The Undergraduate International Studies and Foreign Language (UISFL) Program provides grants to strengthen and improve undergraduate instruction in international studies and foreign languages.

 

CSREES - Higher Education Challenge Grant: Projects supported by the Higher Education Challenge Grants Program will: (1) address a State, regional, national, or international educational need; (2) involve a creative or non-traditional approach toward addressing that need that can serve as a model to others; (3) encourage and facilitate better working relationships in the university science and education community, as well as between universities and the private sector, to enhance program quality and supplement available resources; and (4) result in benefits that will likely transcend the project duration and USDA support.

 

International Reading Association - Awards and Grants Program: Grants support professional development, graduate studies, and research.

 

Arts & Communication

 

National Endowment for the Arts - NEA Universal Design Leadership Project FY08: Notice seeking applications for a project to increase understanding, acceptance, and practice of universal design within the design profession and by the American public.

 

American Musicological Society - Fellowship Programs: Alvin H. Johnson Dissertation Fellowship program provides 50 stipends of $17,000 each to support the completion of dissertations focused on music scholarship.

 

BMI Foundation - Guthrie Fellowship Program: Supports scholars pursuing research topics/themes related to Woody Guthrie that explore his creative work & contribution to US music & culture.

Music Teachers National Association: MTNA Foundation - Teacher Enrichment Grant Program: Provides support to music teachers, including faculty, for private study or special projects in performance, pedagogy, music theory, composition, etc.

Fellowships

 

University of Notre Dame - The Erskine A. Peters Dissertation Year Fellowship: Candidates are expected to be in residence at the university and to devote most of their time to the completion of dissertation research in the humanities, social sciences, and   theological disciplines.

 

Health

 

Susan G. Komen for the Cure – Grants: Susan G. Komen for the Cure program is offering many grant opportunities for individuals who posses a doctoral degree including: Promise Grants, Investigator Initiated Research Grants, Career Catalyst Research Grants, and Postdoctoral Fellowships.

 

Centers for Disease Control and Prevention – Public Health Conference Support Program: funding will be used to address the Health People 2010 focus areas.
