William Paterson University, which offered its first baccalaureate degree in nursing in 1966 and continues to be a leader in nursing education in New Jersey, is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its nursing program. A celebration will be held for nursing alumni on Thursday, March 30, 2017 on campus.

A conference focusing on how businesses can anticipate and reduce cyber security threats using big data analytics will be held at William Paterson. David Rossi, cyber security architect for IBM z System, IBM will give the keynote address.

Brave New Radio also brought home the award for Best Sports Pre- or Post-Game Show. Additionally, in IBS’s first year offering awards in the medium of video, WP-TV, the campus television station, won for Best Sports Report.

In a romantic gesture before Valentine’s Day, Head Reference Librarian Bill Duffy surprised his wife, alumna and William Paterson nursing professor Barbara (nee Collins) Duffy with something sweeter than a box of chocolates -- a scholarship in her name designated for a William Paterson nursing student.

Ferraiolo and Potoczak, the top winning team, will go on to compete at U-Pitch NJ (New Jersey’s Collegiate Business Model Competition), representing William Paterson, on April 28, 2017 at Princeton University.

The 11th Annual Undergraduate Research Symposium in Biology, Chemistry, Environmental and Health Sciences will be held on Saturday, April 22. Other events include lectures, presentations of faculty and student research and awards, Honors Week student presentations, a celebration of faculty authors and poster sessions.

Film documents his 2,500-mile trek along the U.S. Continental Divide, during which he premiered 30 new works by 30 different composers. The screening, in Hobart Hall 140A, is free and open to the public, and will be followed by a question and answer session with MacDonald.
