Bergen Chamber Ensemble to Perform as Part of the Musical Salon Series at William Paterson University on October 14

William Paterson University will debut its Musical Salon Series in Hobart Manor on campus on Sunday, October 14 at 2 p.m. The series includes small ensembles and classical repertoire in a salon setting and brings together William Paterson University music faculty with metropolitan area artists.

This concert will feature the Bergen Chamber Ensemble, with pieces ranging from early nineteenth century classical music to the twenty-first century works with a modern approach. It will be comprised of an eclectic but exciting combination of instruments and features solos, duos, trios and quartet.

Bergen Chamber Ensemble includes Carol Shansky on flute, Lauren Hosford on horn, Seth Himmelhoch on guitar and Joseph d’Auguste on clarinet. Shansky is assistant professor of music at Iona College and is heard on Pittsburgh Public Radio as part of a flute and guitar duo. Hosford frequently performs in Broadway shows including “The Lion King” and “Radio City’s Christmas Spectacular.” Himmelhoch is the director of classical guitar studies at William Paterson University and founded the Suzuki guitar program at the JCC/Thurnaur School of Music in Tenafly. D’Auguste has played for more than 60 musical theater productions and has been an active orchestral musician on both clarinet and bass clarinet.

The concert will be presented in the intimate setting of Hobart Manor, a National Historic Site on the University’s campus. The Tudor-style mansion, which dates to 1877, was originally the home of the family of Garret Hobart, 24th vice president of the United States.

Tickets to the concert are $15 for general admission; $13 for senior citizens and students and includes refreshments. For ticket information, call the Shea Center Box office at 973.720.2371 or order online at www.wp-presents.org <http://www.wp-presents.org> .
